Look out for others this Winter - and keep your home warm

With the drop in temperature, North West Regional College is encouraging everyone to look out for their older family, friends and neighbours. Please read and share this advice to help keep them warm and well.
Here are some key tips for keeping your home warm:
  • Set your thermostats: 18°C (64°F) bedroom and 21°C (70°F) living room
  • Draw your curtains as soon as it gets dark to stop the heat escaping
  • Keep windows and internal doors closed when it’s cold
  • Get a keyhole cover to help keep the draughts out
  • Use a hot-water bottle, wheat bag or electric blanket to warm the bed
  • Have your heating system serviced and chimney swept
  • Install loft and wall cavity insulation
