A fashion student from Strabane has scooped a major design prize for her costume inspired by the Royal Opera House production of Madama Butterfly. Michelle McGonagle is a HND Fahsion & Textiles student at our Strand Road Campus, and is the second student from the College to win this prestigious accolade – Limavady student Carla Heron picked it up last year. To win the award two years in a row in quite an achievement given that National Skills Academies from across the UK took part in the Design Challenge. From 455 entries at 16 colleges, 48 finalists were selected to be exhibited in the Crush Room, Paul Hamlyn Hall, including Michelle and two students from the Limavady Campus.
