Students on Hairdressing and Barbering courses at North West
Regional College’s Limavady campus have exhibited their talents at the annual
Creative Glamour Hair and Beauty Show.
The event featured dozens of stunning creations in a number
of categories including Avant Garde, Barbering, Cut and Colour, Bridal and
Upstyle.
The judges of the Hair showcase, which was the second of
four events across the college’s campuses in Strand Road, Limavady and
Strabane, were Chris and Kathleen Doherty, Vixen Hair Salon, Deirdre Donnelly,
Metro, Imelda Maguire, Hair by Imelda and Michael McConway, Menspire.
Cara Hegarty, Curriculum Manager, who compered the event,
congratulated all the students who took part on the night.
She added: “What we have seen tonight is the culmination of
months of hard work, and it is fantastic to see it all coming together
“The event is not only important to students for their
college assessment but it is also a great opportunity for them to develop their
practical skills.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has supported the students,
for us as staff it is great to see the students gaining the confidence to
showcase their skills.”
Karen Moore, Head of Training and Skills at NWRC said: “I’d
like to say a big thank you to everyone who has made the annual show in
Limavady such a success.
“Our key aim at NWRC is to make our students employable, and
time and time again we see our former students in Hairdressing and Beauty
opening their own businesses, proving that if you work hard you can do well in
life.
“I have equal confidence in the many talented students we
have seen exhibiting tonight.”
